…must be of the same species, and have the same defects… with whom I can live in the interchange of those sympathies necessary for my being…”

~ Mary Shelley, “Frankenstein”

One of my favourite novels has always been Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein.” When you look beyond the external trappings that would denote it as a horror novel, it’s really a beautiful statement on what makes us human and the human condition. I was feeling exhausted the other day and decided to reread it to relax a bit, as I haven’t in a long while. Whilst I lost myself in the novel, I was inspired to create a look in Second Life that would reflect the novel, so I put together a frankenfae.

My dress and boots are from Insanya and are fitted mesh made specifically for the Slink Physique mesh body. The Straps dress comes in several varieties from lace to leather to brocade, and I am wearing the “Kinky Straps” variant. It’s sexy without being overly slutty, and I have to say that I absolutely adore the way it hugs every curve of the Slink body. The necklace I have on is from HollyWeird…I picked it up ages ago, put it in my inventory, and forgot about it for a bit. I’m glad I rediscovered it, because it looks amazing when contrasted against my green skin and the black dress. The epic claws are from [CerberusXing] and are fitted to a multitude of mesh hands, including Slink Elegant 1 and Maitreya. If you’re looking for some wicked finger adornments, then you need look no farther than these, as they’re beautifully made and are absolutely killer looking.

My green skin is from Lumae. It’s called “Scream Queen,” and was available at Genre a few months back. I am not sure if it is available anymore, but it works absolutely great as a Frankenstein base. To complete the “stitched together” look, I am wearing the “Body Stitches” from Cherry Candy. Included in the pack are omega and Slink appliers plus tattoo layers, so they’re a great choice for anyone to wear if you want to look like you’ve been pieced back together. Of course, no female Frankenstein look would be complete without black and white hair, so I picked a long style in a gorgeous ombre tone by Catwa.
